PPT Committees

The Lincoln Choice K-8 PPT has many committees that perform various tasks throughout the entire year. These committees are integral part of making Lincoln the incredible school that it is. If you are interested in volunteering on one of these committees, please contact one of the PPT officers for more information.

 PPT Committees

Social Committee
Contact: Sandy Faber
Provides opportunities for Lincoln students and families to interact with one another at events such as the Back-To-School Picnic, school dances, bingo nights, family fun nights, and the All-School Meal.

Auction Committee
Contact:  Jen Groettum & Sara Mason  
Coordinates the annual school auction and carnival in October. This event is the primary fundraiser for the PPT and raises additional funds for Special Projects. This committee has many ways to get involved, including the following sub-committees:

Public Relations: coordinates advertising for the auction/carnival.
Local Solicitation: responsible for solicitation of local businesses.
Internet Solicitation: responsible for solicitation of other businesses via the internet.
Set-up/Take-Down: responsible for preparing rooms for the carnival and displaying auction items.
Live Auction: responsible for setting up and running the live auction.
Bank: operation of the bank on auction day.
Pick-Up Room: responsible for delivering purchases to buyers on auction day.
Room Closing: responsible for closing silent auction rooms, delivering bid sheets to the bank, and moving purchased items to the pick-up room.

Volunteers in Education (ViE)
Contact: Anndrea Parsons & Sara Espy
Volunteers in Education is a program that enriches education in the Rochester Public Schools by making the time, talents, and expertise of parents, community members, and businesses available to students and staff. ViE Coordinators serve as a liason between staff and volunteers.

Community Relations
Contact: Kate Thompson-Jewel or Shanti Argue
Responsible for coordinating school tours for interested and new families, publicity to families interested in attending Lincoln, and organizing the Meet the Teacher Day Information Fair.

Newsletter and Communications - The LincolnLincs
Contact: Karen MacLaughlin or Rhonda Fuhrer 
Publishes and maintains the LincolnLincs, the online Lincoln newsletter, Solicits, writes, and edits articles for the newsletter.

Book Fair
Contact: Erin Sinnwell
Coordinates book fairs at Lincoln to raise funds for the PPT and earn books for the Lincoln Library.

Special Projects
Contact: Cinnamon Marxen
Money earned at PPT fundraisers in excess of the annual PPT budget is used for Special Projects. A Special Project can be any project or item that benefits the school, and projects generally provide additional educational enrichment opportunities for our students that are typically not available at other schools. The Special Projects committee coordinates the application process for spending these funds, and organizes the “consensus meeting” for determining which projects are funded.

Staff Appreciation Committee
Contact: Kate Thompson-Jewel
Plan PPT staff and volunteer appreciation events as needed.

Ellen Hunt Scholarship Committee
Contact: Mandy Verdick & Karen MacLaughlin
The Ellen Hunt Scholarship provides former Lincoln students with funding for college. This committee coordinates the scholarship application process and helps to determine awardees.
